recycle, reuse, repurpose, repair and restore

The Doughnut Economy

We are very happy to be able to come from North Wales over the years and be part of Green Futures Field.
You saw it first at Glastonbury Festival The TURT
Creative Recycling works with waste, preloved, redundant materials.
In previous years we have recreated trampolines and other material objects into new innovative items, saving stuff from Landfill and encouraging other to see what they can do with their redundant, preloved, waste materials/stuff.
In 2022 we have utilised 15 trampolines, given to us or collected via Freecycle or Free from Facebook Market place. Over the years we believe we have repurposed around 50 trampolines. (a drop in the ocean)
And as the Doughnut is circular it was another thing we could make from a trampoline. We also used the flysheet of Vango Force 10 destroyed in Storm Francis, some waste roofing board and some old wire, the cavity was stuffed with the surround on a trampoline and the sugar sprinkles are cut from old net curtains. What is the Doughnut all about?

The Doughnut aka The Life Ring
A fun installation with photo opportunities but with a message, an alternative way of operating economies.
Doughnut Economics is “about creating 21st century economies that are regenerative and distributive by design, so that they can meet the needs of all people within the means of the living planet.”
Doughnut Economics Action Lab DEAL (doughnuteconomics.org) works “with changemakers worldwide – in communities, education, cities, business and government and more – who are turning the ideas of Doughnut Economics into transformative action and aiming to create systemic change.”
We all want to ideally exist within the Doughnut, ‘the sweet spot’ and not overshoot above the ecological ceiling – outer rim, or have a shortfall on the social foundation the inner rim.
